It is legal to hire a private investigator in the state of Arizona as long as the investigator holds a current Private Investigator License issued by the Arizona Dept. of Public Safety. 

Arizona doesn't test for investigator competency.  Arizona doesn't test investigators, period. 

The proliferation of spy gadgets and camcorders these days makes it easy for an inexperienced person to get into the investigation business. 

That same person who buys a camcorder and teaches himself to investigate at the expense of his clients should also buy a parachute and teach himself to jump.  That's what he is asking his clients to do when he hangs a shingle on a dream and advertises his ability to help people who are desperate for answers.

I'd estimate that fully 40% of the persons who hire investigators to catch a cheating spouse waste their money because:

1. the investigator doesn't have the staff,
2. the raw surveillance and field experience,

4. the experience manipulating and deploying specialized photo and electronic gear under extreme constraints of time and situational pressure

No.  Text message content is not stored by cellular service providers for liability reasons after the text message is delivered.  The actual text of the message is only available on the sender's handset and the receiver's handset, until it is erased. 

The text message may be held in the phones erased memory; but, there is no good way to access the memory unless you have access to some very talented and willing technical types.

Contary to popular belief, the actual textual content of messages is simply not available from the cellular provider.

Every investigation breaks down into two elements:

We are some of the most experienced GPS technical types in the P.I. business. 

We were building GPS units with a soldering iron, cell phones, and gps circuit boards before the current modular units were available. 

We spent hundreds of hours on the phone with software engineers at Motorola and Garmin in the early days trying to make the two technologies compatible.

When we got the technology right, some of our first customers were the state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Today, we still have the best GPS tracking program available to any investigative outfit anywhere.  Simply put, we know what works.  We run about 40 GPS units in Phoenix at any one time.  We have full command of our units, even when they are in the field.  We can flash program them on the fly, change reporting parameters, ping them, test their correct operation, see their battery levels, etc.  Our GPS units are accurate to about 10 feet.

To stay ahead of the competition, we buy and test literally every GPS model that comes on the market.  

Most other investigators have one or two GPS units in their fleet and know next to nothing about how to get the most out of them.  They end up calling us when the chips are down and they get into trouble because their units are either not working properly or are falling off in traffic, and their clients are running out of time, money and patience.

We use our surveillance experience and equipment to document circumstances as they relate to the well being of our clients' children.  Neglect, poor living conditions, alternative lifestyles, over night guests of the opposite sex, parental drug use, contributing to the delinquincy of a minor, etc.

• Alimony Reduction Cases

Again, we use our surveillance experience and equipment to document cohabitation of parties as it relates spousal support issues.  The root word for Alimony means "to sustain".  When an ex-spouse is sustained by a new live in (lover), we are often employed to prove the cohabitation so the spousal support can be reviewed by the court and possibly terminated.

• Teen (At Risk) Behavior

Teen and other dependents are often "At Risk" for substance abuse.  We offer our clients a way to monitor the activities and associations of their dependent loved ones in order to keep them on the path to recovery.

Over and over we've seen evidence that teen behavior is largely influenced by Peer Pressure.  If your kid is hanging around "pot heads", "pill heads", "boozers" or "binge drinkers", you cannot expect much of a recovery. 

Even, after intensive drug and alcohol rehabilition, there comes a time when the "At Risk Person" asks to be trusted again.  Do you just hand them the car keys and hope? NO! You track them with GPS until they have proven their ability to make good decisions and govern themselves, and until they no longer borrow your valuable assets.
